Retail Sales and Marketing Associate

Retail Sales and Marketing Associate involves in-store sales activities, strategic marketing initiatives designed to drive customer engagement and field sales. Key responsibilities include direct customer interaction, developing promotional campaigns, and analyzing sales data.

Key Responsibilities:

The specific duties vary by company and role seniority, but generally include:

  • Customer Engagement & Sales: Greeting customers, providing product information, making recommendations, and processing sales transactions using a Point of Sale (POS) system. This involves upselling and cross-selling products to meet individual and team sales targets.
  • Field Sales & Traveling Representative Duties: Travel to designated territories, businesses, or event locations to promote products and services.
  • Conduct face-to-face sales presentations, product demonstrations, and outreach to acquire new customers.
  • Build relationships with local partners, community organizations, or event coordinators to increase brand visibility.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, pop-up events, or off-site promotions.
  • Maintain a professional presence while working independently in the field and meeting assigned sales targets.
  • Marketing Strategy & Execution: Collaborating with marketing teams to develop and execute promotional campaigns, in-store events, and visual merchandising displays. This may extend to managing media accounts, creating content, and sending out email campaigns.
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM): Building and maintaining strong customer relationships, resolving complaints, and gathering customer feedback to improve services and drive loyalty.
  • Market Analysis & Reporting: Conducting market research, monitoring competitor activity, analyzing sales data, and providing insights to management to inform future strategies.
  • Inventory & Store Operations: Assisting with stock management, ensuring the sales floor is clean and visually appealing, and coordinating with supply chain teams to ensure product availability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Successful candidates for a retail sales and marketing position typically possess a blend of sales, marketing, and interpersonal skills:

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills are essential for interacting with customers and collaborating with internal teams.

Sales & Negotiation Abilities: The ability to persuade, negotiate, and close deals while remaining customer-focused.

Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analysing sales data and market trends to make data-driven decisions.

Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM systems, POS software, and potentially digital marketing platforms (SEO, social media, email marketing).

Adaptability & Initiative: The ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment and take initiative to address customer needs and store requirements.

Ability to commute/relocate:          

Cardiff CF11 8TS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred).

Experience:

Retail sales: 2 years (preferred)
